Lakewood Ranch Elementary SchoolsBraden River Elementary has been home to Lakewood Ranch residents from the beginning. Braden River has a history of being a top performing school in the county and the state of Florida. The school's campus is surrounded by tall pines with walkways that lead to the neighborhoods of River Club and Summerfield.

McNeal Elementary opened in 2003 and is located in the heart of Lakewood Ranch's Greenbrook community. Families living in Greenbrook are close enough to the school that children can walk or ride their bikes to school if they wanted to, or it is just a short car ride away. Summerfield and Riverwalk students can opt to ride the bus as well. McNeal is on its way to becoming a top rated school in the area and Florida. It's mission is to be a "school community attuned to inspire minds and celebrate learning."

School "H", Lakewood Ranch's newest elementary school will open in late 2005. The school will be located on Masters Avenue off of Lorraine Road, across the street from Lakewood Ranch's Country Club. Lakewood Ranch Middle SchoolsBraden River Middle School is located off Lakewood Ranch Blvd next to Braden River Elementary School. The school has been in operation since 1990 and has enrollment of about 1200 students in 6th, 7th and 8th grade.

The R. Dan Nolan Middle School is located in the heart of Lakewood Ranch's Greenbrook community, next to McNeal Elementary. Most children living in Greenbrook can walk or ride their bikes to school.

Lakewood Ranch High School opened in 1998 as the first high school to be built as such in Manatee County. This state-of-the-art facility has become a landmark school for others to follow. With enrollment of 2600 students, the school offers more than 35 extracurricular activities, from academic to fine arts to sports.

prestigious private school since 1924, opened its upper school campus at
Lakewood Ranch in 1997, which includes middle and high school classes.

College and University OpportunitiesManatee Community College offers continuing education classes at Lakewood Ranch High School and plans to build a satellite campus in Lakewood Ranch. Keiser College opened its campus in 2001 right in Lakewood Ranch. Manatee Technical Institute recently opened an east county facility adjacent to Lakewood Ranch High School. New College and the University of South Florida are a short drive away. Future Growth Five of the county's best schools are within walking distance of the homes in Lakewood Ranch. As Lakewood Ranch grows, so do it's educational opportunities. Land has been set aside in the areas of new construction for new schools.
